Photosynthesis Unit

Objectives:

1. Describe how plants make food through photosynthesis.
2. Provide an overview of photosynthesis's light reactions and the Calvin cycle.
3. Describe the role of pigments (chlorophyll α, chlorophyll β, carotenoids) in photosynthesis.
4. Describe the structures in a plants cell that are involved with photosynthesis and their functions.
5. Describe how C₃, C₄ and CAM plants have evolved ways to reduce the deletrious effects of photorespiration.
