- Turn-in a set of standalone paragraphs. Paragraph hints:
- PARAGRAPHS are organized around one main idea.
- The TOPIC SENTENCE often expresses the main idea of the paragraph. Not all paragraphs have a topic sentence.
- SUPPORTING SENTENCES from details, facts, statistics or examples.
- A CLINCHER SENTENCE pulls detail together and is often used to conclude a long paragraph.
- A paragraph has unity. All the sentences work together.
- A paragraph has coherence. The supporting ideas are arranged in a logical manner: chronological, spatial, or in order of importance.
- The ideas on a paragraph show connection to one another by directing referencing the ideas or using transitional words and phrases.
- Each paragraph will explain how an activity (one of the nine in this unit) helps support the premise that the power of the necklace is illusion or reality.
- The number of activities examined (paragraphs) will also effect your grade.
