Test for Carbohydrates

1. Place 10 ml of the carbohydrate solution in a labeled test tube.
2. Place 10 ml of water in a labeled test tube.
3. Add 2 drops of iodine solution in each test tube and observe.

Test for Sugar (Benedict's test)

1. Prepare a hot water bath using a 600 ml beaker.
2. Place 10 ml of the sugar solution in a labeled test tube.
3. Place 10 ml of water in a labeled test tube.
4. Add 2ml of Benedict's solution in each test tube and shake.
5. Place both test tubes in the hot water bath and observe.

Translucence Test for Lipids

1. Obtain two small pieces of brown paper bag.
2. Rub a sample of lipid on the paper and observe.
3. Rub a few drops of water on the other paper and observe.

Solubility Test for Lipids

1. Add 5 ml of oil to a test test and add 5 ml of water.
2. Shake and observe.
3. Add 5 ml of oil to a test test and add 5 ml of alcohol.
4. Shake and observe.

Test for Proteins

1. Place 4 ml of a protein solution in a labeled test tube.
2. Add 4 ml of Biuret's solution to the test tube and observe.
